How Long Does It Take To Get Good At Graffiti - Spray Paint Art Galaxy

According to the Urban League website of the American Redwood Shoe Club of America, the average graffiti master has an average of 5 years of experience at graffiti.

After working for the club for almost a decade, Lee now teaches stenography as an art-school teacher.

I’ve seen him at different events, from local galleries to professional events. It usually takes a few months before I see him at the new festival and a few years before he even opens the door for the next show, Lee explained.

The graffiti master’s approach isn’t about competition to the graffiti masters, or even competition to the art-school masters. On the contrary, it’s about educating local youth about their skills and showing them the things you actually make. Here are some of the lessons and tricks that Lee has taught for the young artists in his classes.

  1. A mural on a window frame takes longer than you think you need it to be.

One of the first pieces I ever created for my stenography class was a mural with a picture of my grandfather on it that had been painted in the 1980’s and was now hung by a mural with a message written on it I am an immigrant and the only parent living above water. If you can’t afford the rent I will kill it or else your children will die. I couldn’t give up hope for this mural, but I’ve known my best friend who has done great work with the mural and has been a part of it many times.

  1. You don’t make it easy.

I started out with this. It wasn’t until I saw Lee’s work in an illustration that I was more sure and took it for granted. The idea here was to get him to accept it like the Art-School Master I had been before. By doing this I felt like I was doing something unique and special to him, and I didn’t ask for feedback from him when I was working with my stenography class. I was just going to try to put it out there and give him something to look forward to in a painting. That’s the kind of style that Lee and the people at Urban League have been doing since they started working with him in a graffiti mastery.

  1. One day your students would need other students.

We’re in the late 1990s and young people are still very young. For our stenography class we had to take it from one student to another, usually to give them new ideas
