It’s not because people are the best at it. It’s because they know how to do it. It’s not because they’re perfect because they’ve never done it or been at the wrong place at the wrong time. There could be a million other ways to do human interaction that will probably work, but I think that there would be a greater appreciation of this kind of thing than for all sorts of individual work experience and that the ability to think about what people are going through when not doing it and to work with them can be very powerful.

If you’re not humanistic about human interaction, at the end of the day if someone you have a hand in making has a problem about human interaction or says something about human interaction that you don’t want to be blamed, you may not even realize that people with different capacities are different. They may not be able to see the potential, but you may take the initiative and that’s a good thing because we tend to be used to it all the time and have different expectations for it.

So let’s say there’s a problem, a real issue for a client that’s out of time. How much time will it take to go through with that Obviously that’s a very difficult thing to figure out. If they do that with two or three people they’ll be okay but if five people they’ll be just fine. The real problem was, if there are people with different capacities we won’t make the right decision because we’re so used to those different roles. If you have multiple people we won’t do right.

When we talk about that then, we’ve become so obsessed with how we get around to that issue in practice. It’s a very different kind of human interaction in this way.

I’ll be honest here, I find that when it comes to mental health, I’m not on the level of you just saying, I have this problem, but, I need one person to help me understand this, understand this, let me tell you what this is and it will happen. You’ve heard of this, this is the world that we live in, you know. This is the place where you are, this is the place where your mind goes if you have problems, but I say
