After a week of unravelling the massive puzzle in the name of ‘The Good Doctor,’ writer-director Gareth Edwards and director Peter Capaldi have finally made an appearance on the Doctor Who website.

Edwards wrote and directed his debut short, The Good Doctor The Sequel, in August 2010, and the series received critical acclaim at the time and has since been renewed for its fifth season.

As for the upcoming film set in the universe, Edwards said he’d like to see it be a bit more ‘supernatural,’ with the Doctor as the villain.

‘The Good Doctor’ doesn’t really change the Doctor, Edwards told us recently, adding that the original story will be told in an ‘epic, supernatural tale of a great hero.’

Edwards did note that in regards to the original story, the Doctor is the same in every sense of the word and there wasn’t anything supernatural about the story, but that’s likely to have changed over time.
