Can I Make Music On My Phone - Rap Tutor

SOUNDMOTHER Yeah. It just takes me back to an old house. What I’m talking about is, if you want to get a sense of what it’s like to have a sound effect, you want to be able to have a sound effect in your iPhone. It sounds weird, but it’s real. It sounds interesting.

(LAUGHTER)

DELAWARE Let’s listen to the iPhone at some point and maybe, I believe, you know, the phone’s going to be a bit louder than normal, right What’s that going to sound like

SOUNDMOTHER It’s going to sound like something, like a bit faster, more compressed noise, more like a kind of a high quality digital sound.

DELAWARE I remember sitting at the window of the restaurant or something and this music playing in my pocket. I didn’t understand it. I was so nervous about it.

(LAUGHTER)

SOUNDMOTHER The song, Don’t Let The Music Go To Waste, is about a man who has to cope with his childhood and adulthood and all of his music. He finds it’s okay to work on it, or at least let it go, but, of course, there’s only so much you go through when the music dies so he may or may not want to play it anymore.

This is what the music does in that moment, it’s kind of just about trying to figure it out before all of this happens and get back to playing.

(LAUGHTER)

DELAWARE OK, this just goes to show you how important sound effects are in today’s world, not your personal iPhone. And as we go through this episode of The Apple Music Experience, where the showrunners will be meeting with all listeners on the show, I’m going to sit down with all the listeners to talk about this technology. And if you’ve ever looked at it in terms of what is good enough, as a human ear is saying this is the most important thing we can possibly communicate. It’s so important to understand. And then I’m going to try and figure out a way to use your smartphone and music to tell that conversation.

(LAUGHTER)

SOUNDMOTHER Okay.

(LAUGHTER)

DELAWARE We’re going to talk about the music.
