Just the way you do. A lot has happened in my personal life over the last 30 years, even in years prior to that, which I appreciate but I couldn’t talk to you about.

I remember being at the Academy of Music in Boston, USA and I met my idol, John Ritchie, before his death, and asked him if he could lend his vocals. He said he was in the studio for a couple of days, and we were working on it as it became the song we would be playing later that night. He told me he had had great feedback on his work, and that he would use whatever help he got from him to make the song. I told him not to do it. I said, Wait. He said, Are you serious I mean, this is a long song, but who cares about that. Why do you say this kind of stuff, right

John Ritchie was a real pioneer when it came to guitar production and was one of the first composers to create what they call a ‘skeleton’ the basic idea that there’s no way a guitar piece is going to sound good on its own.

And, at one point I looked at that whole, he really thought what if we were using his work for the record I mean, what would you do if his record were going to sound that good

But then, when I saw his guitar in the picture it looked like it was a classic. Then you really could see that in the guitars, because there were a lot of knobs in his pedal set. He was really great, and he was like, Yeah, if these guitars can hear anything, I’ll do that. I said, I can do that, but I have to make a record with him. What if they say ‘Hey and they’re like, ‘Well, you could write with him’ So, that was great It didn’t stop there, as was the case with his vocals. So, for me, that was the start of where I got into composing, and my goal was to help him out.

I also remember being working on a song called The Last of the Music, and how a lot of the songs were based around a piano. So, all of those kinds of stories come to life.
